Growing up in a town of 5000 people with only one country station coming in clear in his childhood bedroom, Matt James, was steeped in country music from a young age. Though he has fronted hard rock band, Blacktop Mojo for the past ten years, his solo music is a bit of that music he grew up with that never left him.
